We know from local social worker assessments that, over time, child and family wellbeing dramatically improves across all eight Strong Family Domains, yielding redemption and lift across the entire community. In a recent Strong Family efficacy study, 96% of participants improved in at least 6 domains, and 76% of participants who completed the Strong Family program improved in all 8 domains.

Florence's Story:

Florence, a mother of five, fled violent tribal conflict in Congo with her children and elderly mother, arriving at an IDP camp in Buniawith nothing. Identified by the local church as one of the most vulnerable, she was invited to join Father’s Family. At her first gathering, Florence learned the importance of saving—but understood she first needed income. With remarkable courage, she entered Congo’s gold mines, a high-risk job few women attempt. She began cleaning and selling gold, then reinvested her earnings into a small fish business. Through hard work, commitment to saving, and the support of her church and Father’s Family group, Florence purchased two plots of land, built two homes—one for her family, one for her mother—and enrolled all five of her children in school. Florence told us that growing up, she never believed she could do anything. Now, she believes she can do everything.Father’s Family has restored dignity, sparked entrepreneurial vision, and helped Florence realize her God-given potential. Her story is a powerful example of how faith-driven, community-based solutions are transforming lives and building sustainable futures.
